Impartiality lies at the heart of our mission. This section is a place to explore the different views experts have. We've gathered sample research from experts who conclude in favor of circumcision and against it. Take a read and make your own mind up.
Although we've been even handed in our evidence, it's only fair to mention that there is an official policy from Australian doctors. The Royal Australasian College of Physicians says, "the level of protection offered by circumcision and the complication rates of circumcision do not warrant routine infant circumcision in Australia and New Zealand". In other words, unless there is a specific medical ailment, they don't recommend circumcision, however doctors should respect that for some families there are overriding religious reasons to do so. This is the majority view for experts and doctors. However some disagree as you can see below.
