Great to see this website revived. Growing up as a hoodie, I was in the minority. Born in the 70s. High School in the 80s. Was always really self conscious. The more we talk about this stuff, the more we all feel normal. Thanks.

Any idea how come you were not cut? I was the same, apparently my mum didn't like the idea.

They asked about getting me circumcised, but doctor said it wasn't necessary. Must have been ahead of his time? Most boys were still done.

My three boys born in 1970s in Western Queensland are uncut. Our delivering GP (Irish born although no accent) refused point blank to circumcise. I have gained the impression that many young fellas born in that era were left intact, but equally I know a few families who cut because of family tradition. So Adam (and JD) tad surprised you came under pressure for being cut; I guess in many ways locality was responsible. Some areas slower to change traditional practice.

I’m a late 50s Aussie bloke who is a proud “team hoodie”. The majority of kids at school were helmets but I’ve always loved what I have. Being an early developer probably gave me more confidence - I was always had one of the biggest dicks in my age group.

Good to see someone from my decade uncut. Although I do remember in Army Cadets in 1964 there were a number (admittedly minority) intact. About same ratio in the showers at reform school the following year! So some Drs always been reluctant to cut. Remembering a few fellas I worked with when I was around 20 were uncut (they were born 1920s) ... I gathered the impression fellas born pre-war in a public hospital with a Dr available/present were cut before they went home. Fellas born in a midwive's nursing home delivered by midwife and not seeing a Dr went home uncut (and most towns of any size had midwife's home... often the only birthing facility). At our local nude beach now... rarely see a foreskin in my age bracket (say 50s-60s) with some very tight circs. Surprisingly of the few young fellas who do visit 20s-30s)... quite a few are cut.

Yea mate. Like you I was a minority in those days. But unlike so many, I was never embarrassed to have my foreskin. I’ve always appreciated having it.

I was born in the 1950s and wasn't circumcised at birth like most Australian boys of that era. The doctor present at my birth was British trained and presumably did not think circumcision was necesary.

Gday James. Actually I am cut but very VERY loosely... trimmed would be more the term... so I pass for uncut. Always been fascinated by/impressed with uncut and never forget the first chance I had to check out an uncut up close. Owner was quite proud of it (rightly so) and had absolutely no qualms about demonstrating the workings of his pride and joy.

Hi Dave. Sounds like an interesting cut you have - I’m curious and to what that would look like. And glad you’ve had the opportunity to check things out too. ;)

Hey guys great website, so i am a Team hoodie and have always found I am in the minority. I was Born in the late 80s in Aus and was not cut as it was apparently out of trend at the time.

It's wonderful to read all your comments. It's amazing how emotional it can be for both cut and uncut and now we can talk about it here in this forum.
